Published Sun. Oct 11th, 2020 Sloppy Sooners Outlast Hapless Horns in 4th Overtime 53-45.

In a sloppy game marred by turnovers and penalties, Oklahoma finally, mercifully, managed to beat arch rival Texas in four overtimes 53-45. The game lasted over five and a half hours. With less than four minutes left in the game, and down 14 points, Sam Ehlinger valiantly led the Horns back to tie the game 31-31. Both teams missed field goals by normally highly accurate kickers that extended the overtime periods. The game ended with Oklahoma intercepting a Texas pass in the end zone, ending a brilliant but frustrating record of 1-4 against the Sooners in Ehlinger's career. Around the Nation: Clemson and Notre Dame kept pace for their November showdown with the Tigers swamping the Hurricane 42-17 and the Irish pulling away from Florida State 42-26. Brigham Young remained unbeaten by slipping past stubborn Texas-San Antonio 27-20. The SEC experienced an offensive explosion as Ole Miss finally fell to Alabama 63-48 while earlier in the day Florida was upset by Texas A&m 41-38. #2 Georgia downed a much improved Tennessee team 44-21 and will now travel to Tuscaloosa to face #3 Alabama in one of the season's most anticipated games.
