Published Sun. Apr 5th, 2026 Several teams Break Records With 2025 Season
The 2025 season is completely updated and several teams broke all-time records with ratings and strength of schedule.
In the ACC Miami (Fla.) broke their record by playing the most difficult SOS in Hurricane history with a rating of 154.700 shattering the old record of 109.590 set in 2017. In the Big 12 BYU broke their SOS record and came in second in the all time best team behind the 1984 National Champions. Texas Tech had their best season in history. But it was the SEC that scored big with 6 teams breaking records of some kind, especially Alabama who played the hardest schedule in college football history with a rating of 157.950, beating out LSU of 2019. Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Mississippi State broke records for SOS while Vanderbilt was the big winner scoring the best in history in both categories.
With more games being played against stronger opposition, I'm sure this trend will continue in the coming years. We are already in mid-April (I turn 75 on April 14). it won't be long before the 2026 magazines will be on the stands and the race for the 2026 crown will be underway. I say “bring it on”!
