Published Sun. Oct 19th, 2025 Vanderbilt Explodes into Top Ten

The Commodores waited a long time for this celebration. Vanderbilt beat LSU 31-24 bolting to #10 in this week's Billingsley Report, the highest ranking since Vanderbilt finished #2 in 1906 with an 8-1-0 record. Yale finished #1 that year with a 9-0-1 record, nipping  Vandy by 4 rating points.

Around the Nation. Louisville knocked Miami from the list of unbeaten teams with a 24-21 win Friday night. Georgia Tech moved to 7-0 with an impressive 27-18 road win over Duke. Unbeaten Memphis was a 21 point favorite over UAB but someone forgot to tell the Tigers you still have to prepare to win. Ohio State remains #1 after shutting out Wisconsin 34-0, but surprising Indiana is not far behind with a 7-0 record, landing the Hoosiers at #2. Brigham Young won the Holy War over Utah 24-21 and stays unbeaten at 7-0.

As I predicted last week the SEC is a total upside down mess. Georgia took down top rated undefeated Ole Miss 43-35 opening the door for new leader Alabama, 37-20 winner over the arch rival Vols. Texas A&M squeaked by Arkansas 45-42 while Texas escaped Kentucky 16-13 in overtime.

The projections will post Tuesday. Enjoy your week.
