Kentucky is in the midst of one of the most impressive seasons since the Wildcats finished 9-3 in 1984, but they ran into an inspired Volunteer team in Neyland Stadium and fell 24-7. Tennessee dominated the game from the start, taking a 10-0 lead into halftime. The Volunteers have won 17 straight home games against Kentucky, dating back to that 1984 season. It was a huge win for Tennessee, placing the Volunteers into a position to become bowl eligible with games remaining against Missouri and Vanderbilt. Utah State continued their meteoric rise with a 62-24 win over San Jose State. The 9-1 Aggies rolled to their 9th consecutive win after a narrow opening season loss at Michigan State. California broke a 14 game losing streak to USC with a defensive 15-14 win over the Trojans in the Coliseum and Florida came from behind to defeat South Carolina 35-31.
