Published Sun. Sep 10th, 2017 Oklahoma Dominance of Ohio State Propels Sooners to # 1

A near flawless Baker Mayfield led Oklahoma to a stunning 31-16 upset of Ohio State Saturday night in Columbus. It was a magical night for the Sooners offensively and defensively, as Oklahoma dominated both sides on the line of scrimmage against the previously # 2 ranked Buckeyes. The win on the road, coupled with a #7 strength of schedule on the young season jumped the Sooners all the way to the top spot in the Billingsley Report. Around the nation, Clemson topped Auburn 14-6, TCU surprised Arkansas 28-7, Georgia squeaked by Notre Dame 20-19, Washington State outlasted Boise State 47-44 in a 3OT thriller, USC pounded Stanford 42-24, and Utah won the Holy War 19-13 over BYU.
